Dr. Bipan C Rathore is college Principal (Retired) He is 1st Ph.D on ecology of Himalayan brown bears in India and has conducted extensive research on rare and endangered species of bear in Kugti wildlife sanctuary of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. He is still conducting nomadic shepherds brown bear conflict studies in Pir Panjal Himalayan range falling in chamba district. He has a passion for trekking, wildlife watching,forest hiking and exploring new areas for flora and fauna. He has attended many International and National Conferences and seminars on bear research and management such as 15th IBA conference held at San Diego California USA (2004) International conference on Conservation Science held at University of Cambridge UK (2006) 18th IBA conference held at Monterrey city Mexico (2007) , Darwin 200 international conference of Integrated Zooligy held at Beijing China (2009), 20th IBA conference held at Ottawa Canada (2011), 21st IBA Conference held at New Delhi (2012), 23rd IBA conference held at Thessaloniki Greece (2013), 24th IBA conference on bear research and management held at Anchorage Alaska USA (2016) and 26th IBA conference held at Lubhjiana city Slovenia (2018) Dr Rathore is active member of International Bear Association (IBA)
Dr Rathore is founder of Himalayan Council of Scientific Research (HCSR) and actively involved in many research related activities in Himalayan region
